Obituary - Dana Louise Richardson

Dear friends,

I am sorry to inform you that Larry has held Dana’s hand for their final moments together.  He is doing very well, all things considered, but also currently surrounded by family who are supporting him.

Larry is scheduled to complete over 15 years of employment with Montreal and Ottawa Conference on March 31, 2019, wrapping up all the financial implications, and he has been a loyal steward for the church.

Obituary for Dana Louise Richardson (Metcalfe)

Richardson, Dana Louise (nee Metcalfe)

After several months of dealing with the relentless challenges of acute leukemia, Dana passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 19, 2019, a few weeks after she celebrated her 69th birthday with her family. She is survived and dearly missed by Larry, her husband of 48 years, daughters Mandy Walsh and Kerry (Colin) Woodward, grandchildren Katlin and Emily Walsh, Hunter and Karly Woodward; also, her siblings Nancy, Dean, Gordon, Maggie and Dorothy (Elvin) Taylor and cousin Paul (Shelley) Allen. Also survived by her brothers and sisters in law, Barb (Bill) Benson, Walter, Alan and Sandy (Norm) Tetlock, and by her many nieces and nephews.

Dana inspired so many of us with her engaging personality, hard work and her intense love of life. She was a mentor to many individuals and helped them to find their way through career and life transitions.

Visitations will be at Woodroffe United Church on Tues Jan 22, 7-9 pm and Wed Jan 23, 10-11 am, followed by celebration of life at 11 am.

A spring celebration will be held in New Brunswick, where they lived for 25 years.

In lieu of flowers, donations welcome to Hospice Care Ottawa, Woodroffe United Church, Bladder Cancer Canada or a charity of your choice.
