Vigil tonight at the Mosque in Aylmer to offer prayers and denounce violence

My dear colleagues,

I am sending you a note I sent to my congregation at Aylmer UC this morning. This news is hitting us in Quebec quite hard. Please share this info as you are able and come in support if you can.

You may be having your own events. We all stand together.

I did not hear the news until this morning - the violence in the Mosque in Quebec City. Very quickly connections across Aylmer were made and the religious communities are coming together in support of our Muslim sisters and brothers from the Aylmer Mosque.

And so it is with great sadness, in friendship and solidarity with our Muslim brothers and sisters, we will gather tonight at the Mosque in Aylmer to offer prayers and denounce violence.

Please join us.

Please spread this message to your networks.

Mosque address: 21 rue Park (corner rue Eardley)

Time: 5 pm

Boyd and I will be there. I hope you will come out to lend your support, offer blessing (as we did yesterday in church) and stand against hatred and violence.
